Men desire purity. Men love to respect and uphold the dignity of a woman. Boys desire pleasure. Boys love to use feminine glory for their own personal satisfaction.
This post is centered around a series of three verses, Ephesians 5:3, Matthew 5:28, and Job 31:1.
A bit personal, but today was tough. Memories.
Shopping with my friend at Delia’s, where my ex-girlfriend works.
Driving through her town. Driving by her street.
Getting ice cream at the place we used to walk to together in the summer.
Seeing the trails we used to walk and talk.
Driving the streets we used to ride bikes.
Seeing the creek we used to walk to and swim.
Seeing pictures of her close with another guy.
Hearing the songs that bring back memories like a flood.
Seeing that same evening summer sun set we came to love spending time together under.
Everything about today was a challenge. Even though it’s been more than enough time to move onto what God has next for me, life sometimes has a funny way of bringing the memories right back to my heart’s doorstep. He always gives me strength, but sometimes I find myself where I shouldn’t be.
It’s been a year, but I still love that girl and pray for her. God, please don’t let her settle, keep drawing closer to her as she draws closer to You, make your will for her clear, and give her your heart. Most of all, make her aware of how much she needs you every day; draw her gaze to You above every other ambition, desire, and need in her life.
Make me unmistakably aware of Your love, Your will, Your heart, Your plans for me and my life. Draw me close to You; be my everything. It’s been a year, but time doesn’t heal all wounds, it conceals them. God, please don’t let me settle, keep drawing me closer as I draw closer to You, make your will for me clear, and give me your heart. Most of all, make me aware of how much I need you every day; draw my gaze to You above every other ambition, desire, and need in my life.
Stay close with your Creator and Father.
Stay close with the friends you can rely on spiritually to encourage and uplift you.
Stay close with the people you can spiritually encourage and uplift.
Stay invested and involved in life.
A Mans usefulness depends upon his living up to his ideals insofar as he can.
It is hard to fail but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.
All daring and courage all iron endurance of misfortune make for a finer nobler type of manhood.
Only those are fit to live who do not fear to die and none are fit to die who have shrunk from the joy of life and the duty of life.
